(Most players feel that the mechanism alloy does not significantly affect the acoustics of the instrument.)
B/C convertible footjoint: A cleverly-designed, 3- piece footjoint that can be used as either a B or a C footjoint. It is designed for the flutist who prefers a C footjoint, but sometimes needs a low B.
This roller facilitates movement between the D#, C#, and C keys on the footjoint.
An additional trill key that moves several left hand fingering combinations to the right hand and simplifies a number of trills. Please see C# trill for a more complete description of the uses and benefits of this key.
Split E Mechanism:
An additional mechanism that provides a more secure high E natural and improves its articulation. It does not alter the pitch of any notes.
Lower G Insert:
A much less expensive alternative to the Split E mechanism, this insert also provides a more secure high E natural. Some players notice a slight flattening of the A natural in the first and second octaves.
These extensions allow a flutist with hand problems to re-configure the keys in more comfortable ways.
An almost endless variety of key alterations designed to meet an individual flutist's needs when key extensions are not the appropriate solution. Designs such as our angled footjoint cluster have helped make the flute more comfortable for many flutists.
Decorative engraving is available for key cups. Please contact the company for available designs.
